A comprehensive 9 week online certification program created and led by Kimberly Ann Johnson for women who desire to create, strengthen and lead circles of mothers using the MotherCircle format and curriculum.
We need villages to raise children, mothers and families – and village-mindedness is rare. The current structures do not support the deep longing we have to mother and be mothered in community. We are living out of alignment with the fundamental needs of humans for connection and togetherness.
In a culture stripped of wisdom and rites of passages, we are invited back into connection with the oldest code.
This moment is a powerful window of opportunity for repair. Together we’ll build the habits, structures and relationships that will sustain us, as mothers and leaders in our families and communities.

You are here because you believe that the health of mothers matters, and that when mothers thrive, communities thrive.
You see that the cultural fabric is torn, especially in the postpartum time, and you want to do something about that.
You know that early mothering is a time ripe for maturation and self-discovery and you want to help reclaim that for women.
You believe. You see. You know.

A comprehensive online 9 week training and certificate program for women who desire to create, strengthen and lead circles of mothers in their in person or online communities using the MotherCircle format and curriculum.
You may already have a book club, or a women’s circle, or a professional offering – or maybe you have never led a circle, but are craving connection on a deeper level. Either way, this training will prepare you with the skills you need to create spaces for mothers to hold, cultivate and practice wisdom.
With the MotherCircle curriculum as our guide, we will go through it week by week to ensure understanding of the foundational content, as well as practice and develop the facilitation skills you’ll need to teach and facilitate a group experience. These skills will prepare you to lead groups through this curriculum as well as serve you in other areas of leadership in your community.

You will need an average of six to eight hours a week minimum to dedicate to this offering. In order to teach, there is study involved. Not everything one studies becomes the class, but that is the foundational knowledge that takes us there. So we will give you resources to explore in the case that you are particularly interested or moved by one part of the content.
Attending all weekly sessions of the live MotherCircle Facilitator Training.
Attending at least five of the weekly practice facilitation sessions.

Yes, if you are certified. After you become a facilitator, this is open source information for you to use as you see fit, while crediting its origins. You may teach it virtually or in person. You may not rebrand it and teach it as your own.
No. You are welcome and encouraged to gather a group of friends or acquaintances to move through this experience together.
Yes, if you complete the course, quizzes and exit evaluation you will be a certified MotherCircle facilitator.
Part of this training will be about learning how to provide a safe and contained environment for all participants. You will learn how to establish group agreements and what to do when things veer off course. This will be a major theme of the training- how to sit in your seat as leader, to track individual experiences at the same time as tracking a group.
Each person will come to this training with different experience, affinity and expertise. You will be encouraged to lean on your strengths and we will offer you a number of ways to offer material.
Some of you will already have businesses and work that dovetails with this material. Others of you are just getting started. By the end of the nine weeks, we will help you have a plan of how you will bring this into the world.
There will be an evaluation at the end of the course and you will have all the supportive information you need to begin. If you’ve never taught before, there will always be hesitation and anticipation. And the only way to get good at it is to practice. You will have a chance to practice teaching each week. That practice will help you to gain confidence.
No, you don’t have to be a mother to become a MotherCircle facilitator.
Many women can serve mothers and integrate the wisdom of the motherhood journey and offer it in a meaningful way.
It will be important to know that sessions and practices are unique to the experience of motherhood and you’ll have to feel comfortable relating with these from your own experience.
MotherCircle is an eight class arc through the physical, emotional, and spiritual trajectory of motherhood, created by Kimberly Ann Johnson in 2018. MotherCircle is now a community of thousands of fierce mothers wrestling with big questions of who we are as women and mothers in these times. Kimberly will be leading her MotherCircle course this September. Visit here to find out more.
