What is a MotherBlessing?

A MotherBlessing is a simple ceremony for the mother-to-be hosted by a friend or loved one near the end of her pregnancy.

As a culture, we are used to hosting or attending a baby shower where we celebrate the arrival of a new baby.

During a MotherBlessing, the focus is on the woman herself as she makes the profound transition to motherhood.

Her loved ones gather around her to weave a web of support that she can rely on in the days leading up to her birth and in the postpartum time after.

The ritual of a MotherBlessing helps prepare the woman for the rite of passage of birth, as well as empowers her loved ones to support her in the ways that she needs most.

The purpose of a MotherBlessing is to mark the rite of passage from Maiden to Mother.

If you follow the simple steps in this guide, you can create a meaningful and ceremonial gathering for a pregnant mama in your life.

This is how we build MotherCulture.
