Motherhood rearranges everything about us.
We come apart and then back together over and over again throughout this journey.
Maybe you just went through the rite of passage of becoming a mother.
Maybe you are discovering yourself again after divorce, an empty nest, or a new career direction.
Maybe you’re in the *coming apart* phase and you’re longing for the mirroring and practical support to integrate this new version of yourself that’s emerging.
MotherWisdom is a deep and ancient river that we’ll jump in together to remember who you are and capture the agency and aliveness that lives in you right now.

I found out I was pregnant for the first time on my way to Uganda. I had just finished grad school in California and was working at the University. Even though I had a graduate degree in biology, I knew next to nothing about my body. My world didn’t only turn upside-down after giving birth, it exploded into a million pieces and came back together looking like a different planet. I was desperate to understand the intuitive fire and power I had just encountered in my body – the same power that had also totally slammed the door on the life I knew before motherhood.
When my second daughter Shiloh was two weeks old, I began attending a circle with midwives, and doulas. I researched everything I could get my hands on about the rite of passage of birth. I became a birth doula and eventually a women’s circle leader. I knew there was a different story – a deeper story – to share with my daughters about womanhood and motherhood and bodies and cycles which meant that I had to go first. I would find the pathway and live it myself.
River’s birth taught me that I desperately needed community. I felt in my bones that this was how we were meant to live as humans- sharing life and mothering, not isolated and alone. We hosted community gatherings in our home that eventually extended to the neighborhood and local businesses. The word “community “ became pretty trendy, but I was living in the salt and grit of it. 11 years later I stil mother with these dear women.
My 4th daughter Arrow was born in our room upstairs in the middle of the night with her three sisters holding vigil. Her birth ushered in a new season of supporting women one-on-one as a transformational coach- midwifing the inner births we go through as women, not just the outer ones. I started @moon.daughters, offered online classes for mothers, and led retreats to connect women back to that intuitive fire – the one that is with us when we birth babies, and then stays with us as we bring our soul work into the world throughout our lives.
After 19 years of marriage I went through a divorce that tossed me into the underworld and I became a single mom of four daughters. The familiar geography of my life became a wild and unknown wilderness. I came to know grief on my knees. I reached out to a photographer friend and asked her for a photoshoot as a grief practice to capture this inner transformation. Also my hair fell out and came in curly!
I live and mother in community with 3 single parents, 8 kids and 2 dogs. Kimberly and I connected through a mutual friend here in San Diego and she asked me to join her in bringing the MotherCircle Facilitator Training into the world. We met together in coffee shops, kitchen tables, and the Korean spa and poured over the 8 themes of MotherCircle that had formed and guided us on our motherhood paths
My oldest daughter Kairah is starting her senior year and just turned 17. She’s about to get her driver’s license. We are stumbling together toward college applications and figuring out how to launch her into adulthood, We stay up late into the night talking about everything from wild dreams and teenage individuation to haircuts and friend drama. I’m treasuring these moments and in awe of the wisdom in her. We are both learning to fly.
